Florian Zumbrunn

French artist who paints with code · Paris

Florian Zumbrunn writes algorithms that draw landscapes, prints them on watercolor paper and finishes each piece by hand in dry pastel and oil pastel. Trees recur as structural traces, seasonal light is borrowed from the Impressionists, and the whole practice sits in the quiet dialogue between computation and matter: generative art that ends as a unique physical work.

His generative series have been released on Art Blocks (Tout tracé), Verse (Scents of Spring) and Bright Moments (Odysseys), and shown in Paris, London and Tokyo: the solo exhibitions Scents of Summer and Brise d’Automne, Moments at the Disruptive Gallery, and Code+Matter, curated by Dominique Moulon. In 2024 Hennessy invited him to reinterpret the X.O decanter. He teaches at Gobelins and Le Wagon, and gave a TEDx talk in 2025 on memory, matter and the algorithm.
